Steve, I cannot comprehend that a man of your discerning tastes allowed yourself to be in a suchly-named band.
Perhaps it was just high school peer pressure.
Next you'll tell me you were the lead in Picnic or something like that. Then my head will explode.

1) it is spelled wrong

I like this name a lot.
Somehow, it conjures up the Kahoots ethos.
But even if it didn't--usually, if I like a band, they can have a dumb name and I get used to it.

Unless I'm mistaken, you were never in Red Swan. I believe you're thinking of
Harsh Realm.

On the other side of that coin, a good name will make me want to hear a band regardless of anything else, like judging a book by the cover. I have never heard Sun Kil Moon, but I cannot imagine a band with a name like Sun Kil Moon being not good.

I think it is a decent band name. It is funny when venues can't decide whether we spell it as one or two words.
There are two (actual) towns in New Mexico (or is it arizona?) with great band name potential. Its great because you come to a fork in the road and you can either go to
Mexican Hat or
Mexican Water. Heh.

I'm lucky to have played in bands that only have pretty decent names. I recently joined a very heavy rock band (sleep/high on fire type stuff) called ZANGIEF.
This makes me so incredibly happy.

Folks, this is seriously awesome stuff. Naming a rock band after a SFII character is so nerdy that it's cool, and the song title "Thunder Wolf" just made Diet Coke come out of my nose. Salut to the both of you.

In that recent Minutemen documentary, George Hurley mentions his brief time playing drums for a new wave band called Hey Taxi!
