There's a difference between slowcore and shoegaze.
Galaxie 500 & Codeine would be definite slowcore bands.
Spacemen 3 are kind of in-between.
Either-or: Best Shoegazing Band

what the fuck is hardcore about "slowcore" bands? when i hear "slowcore" or "sadcore" (both used in the same sentence by aquarius records in reference to low) i think "you mean 'slow' and 'sad'. NOTHING 'CORE ABOUT IT!"
people think you need to add the core suffix to
1 -- make it seem somehow badass
2 -- make it sound like a genre instead of a descriptor (we can't just call it slow and sad, even though it is!)
edit: if someone responds "dude, the core isn't core as in hardcore. it's core as in, slowcore is the core of slowness" or some shit, well, not only will i not buy it, i may boycott your wares altogether.

74Just want to post a vote for Lush. Not sure why they are scoring so low here. Oh, and here's a plug for Anderson's more recent project Sing Sing. Not shoegazing, but old fans should check it out.
Also "In Ribbons" Pale Saints. Once that guy (blocking on his name) left the band the later records really suffered.
