Arson Smith wrote:"Assistant Attorney General John Grossman... said that if they had been actual mooninites they could have damaged transportation infrastructure in the city."

You could say that about damn near anything, given that mighty big "IF".

I can't believe supposedly intelligent people honestly say things like this. In public. And expect to convince people with their argument skillz.

File under "Small World" - from an e-mail list I participate (lurk) on:

"Hey, all- I bailed my good friend sean stevens out of jail this morning; he got arrested for hanging up LED panels."

HOLY SHIT! think about it! if any lite-brites are explosvies then they could damage millions of homes and lives across the county! we'd better take civil and criminal actions against milton bradley or whoever makes them for distributing these hypothetically potentially dangerous machines into homes across america!

if they had been explosive then they would have been explosives! i hope arguments like this take legal precedence real soon!

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, think about it! If the defendant was the murderer then he is guilty beyond any shadow of a doubt!" [shocked gasps and mutterings abound in the courtroom]

thank you, Assistant Attorney General John Grossman, for the profound statement that explosives could damage transportation infrastructure in a city...explosives can damage things yes...yes yes yes yes...

i know it's pretty obvious and everyone else has already made fun of this shit, but...fuck! i mean, fuck!

this was marketing brilliance. fucking unbelievable. viewership for the show will triple tenfold now. even if Turner Broadcasting gets its ass sued, they got what they were aiming for, free advertising. Thanks CNN and FOX!!

Hell of a lot less expensive then they were. One from Boston was going for 5000.00 before the auction was closed (an ePanic).

Milton Bradley is a potentially dangerous machine.

But seriously, what's the difference between this:

Cline asked Turner Broadcasting System Inc. on Thursday to reimburse the city for funds spent removing 20 of the gadgets from train platforms and storefronts, mostly on the North Side, after a guerrilla-marketing campaign for the company's adult cartoon show went awry.

and this:

Chicago police plan to increase patrols downtown and be on the lookout for drunken drivers during and after the Super Bowl on Sunday, officials said today.
Patrols will be concentrated "where large crowds gather when the game ends," such as the Loop and various entertainment venues, Supt. Philip Cline said during a news conference this morning....

Why isn't Chicago asking the Bears to reimburse them for causing them to increase patrols?

The charges against Peter and Sean have been dropped.

"Now all we have to wait for is the city to apologize to its citizens for panicking, in the way officials did not panic in New York, and L.A., Chicago, and Atlanta, and Austin, Seattle, Portland, San Francicso, and Philadelphia. Philadelphia, where by actual count 56 of those signs have been blinking for the last two weeks."
