A couple of song titles on this highly overrated record make reference to Coltrane's Ascension and Albert Ayler's New Grass- deeply spiritual records featuring guys playing saxophone really hard. If only they had 1/10th of the spirit (and I don't mean the spirit of Eden).

I'm already on record as stating how incredible I think Coltrane's 'Ascension' is on the very thread you refer to. This was the thread started by cliffordton asking for some jazz recommendations-your response to his request was 'The Weasel Walter Quartet'.
Ayler's 'New Grass'? Good luck with that.

Ten Grand - This is The Way to Rule
Tortoise - Tortoise
Scott Walker - 4
Neil Young - On The Beach
PW Long - We Didn't See You on Sunday
Disco Inferno - DI Go Pop

These are good choices I missed.

DI go pop isn't a perfect album though is it, it feels so incomplete. It feels like a chunky EP to me.

Seeing as how this is a subjective list, your interpretation is, and most likely would be, completely different than mine. No biggie, I think it's a perfect record, not for everyone, but a perfect record for me.

Why are you stating the obvious?

Jeremy! We listened to this while putting together a world map jigsaw puzzle in Kansas City! In an hour! I did not know of your love for this album until that time! Such a splendid, gay memory!

I think we agree that this is their best.

Yes, Tree!!! This jigsaw puzzle, so ghay! So much fun! A new collection of Whiskey has graced my doors again, I shall save a bottle for you.

Sphincter, sorry for being obvious friend. I should've realized by your name that you already understood 'obvious.'

I'll just have to start putting 'in my opinion' after everything I type so you don't have to come back to me and tell me that I'm just stating an opinion...mine, in fact.

The sky is blue and cows go moo. Bad examples though.
