No, it isn't. Don't get me wrong, Archers are one of my all-time favorite bands but White Trash Heroes is not very good. It has good songs and some horrible songs. Like any great band, usually they sounded like they all knew exactly what they were doing together. On some songs on this album they sound lost. I give them props for going in new directions, but they (maybe just E. Bachmann) had outgrown the band.

I disagree very much. I wouldn't say that it's their best record by a long shot, but i'll still go back and listen to White Trash Heroes before putting on Icky Mettle. I think White Trash Heroes is a great example of a band evolving their sound while retaining their signature qualities that made them great in the first place. Although i would agree with anyone who says they were right to break up when they did because their next album would have probably been too much of an evolution. "White Trash Heroes" and "Fashion Bleeds" and "Dead Red Eyes" are songs that i would put on par with anything else they've done, no question.

But strangely, i think their best full-length is The Speed of Cattle, so take all this for what it's worth.

I haven't listened to Vitus Tinnitus in years. I'll have to pull that out and see if i can hear "What Did You Expect" guy.

I almost mentioned these same three songs: the only good ones on the record. When people praise this record these are probably the songs they're thinking of.

I listened to Speed of Cattle while I drove to work today.

It seems that many have accepted Polvo as the band that evolved more over the course of their existence, but compare Co-Crane Secret & Shapes with Icky Mettle & White Trash Heroes: both bands did their share of experimenting but I believe that, in terms of progression, the Archers ended further from their place of origin than Polvo.

Cor-Crane isn't Polvo's first... the self-titled record "Polvo" is. I have it, and am not a huge fan of the songs on this album.

21 to 21 tie. This EA, she is good place.
