The thread is "Which opening riff is most iconic". Iconic means "Having a conventional formulaic style". Straining to remember what the Mars Volta sounds like (and thanks a fucking lot for
that) I'm thinking "no, not iconic at all".

Do these riffs exist in some kind of theoretical riff space waiting to be discovered by earthly riffonauts?
If so there may be a diminishing supply of undiscovered ones.
