one of the bands in the Girls Rock! Chicago benefit last night had the best name ever, and was actually one of the best bands i've ever seen in my life.

they were called Jehovah's Wetness and they did a 10-15 min long medley of Chicago's 25 Or 6 to 4 and the Buzzcocks. And even if you hate one or both of those bands, they did it BRILLIANTLY. It was like the Residents, every Scandinavian death metal group, and Steven Hawking got together.

I literally almost cried.

Is this my imagination? It seems that bands in the indie realm really have a different view of band names now as opposed to 20 years ago. It seem like if you grew up with band names like Fugazi or Pavement as opposed to Iron Maiden or KISS then your point of reference is much different. Bands names these days annoy the piss out of me whereas they used to inspire or scare the crap out me. (inspire the crap out of me...)

"lardner" seems like a good name. taken?

If "Mechanical Extremity" doesn't work, go with "Shit Lake". All yours.

does the name matter? if it seems important to you then it is. personally speaking i could not be in a band with a terrible name.
