The sound at the Pritzker was outstanding. I caught the last 45 minutes of the show today, and the band sounded huge. Never thought I'd see an Ex show in the middle of the day, but damn if it didn't sound perfect downtown at lunchtime.

For some annoying reason, this upload to Youtube completed before it got the entire video (I have about two minutes more of this - until the end of the song).
Here's some footage from one of my fave tunes of the day. I'll fix the link once I've managed to get the whole thing uploaded. Not bad for a little digicam. Shot from the second row.

Those songs that Kat sang on were fucking fantastic, those were probably my favorites of both days.
Today was marginally better, but I think it was kind of silly to have them play where there were seats. That music COMPELS you to dance. Although it was nice just to sit, and I tried moving as best I could in the chair.
Clarinet player was excellent, and he's a total dreamboat
Also, the Ex probably draws the most diverse crowds I've ever seen. God, I could just go on and on

The Ex are an extremely attractive band. My friend and I were admiring the bassist...

That guy playing bass, Colin, is just about the only person I can imagine who can both make awesome music and pull off wearing pleated pants. Respect.

Katrin is a wonderful singer. The Ex should do a
Penis Envy type album where they have Katrin sing all the songs and have G.W. do percussion or something.

Maybe I should take up clarinet again. (ba-dum-tish.)
