God dam Burun you got in there before I changed my quote so I could take a final listen. I own "mescal head" and I do not like it. I recently gave it another chance too, I just don't like it. "Raise" is going on now.

They do suck, just a boring bullshit rock band with no hooks and nothing to set them apart like ten million others

I actually still like their records.
However, they're a better singles band. They're albums aren't too consistent, at least Mezcal Head isn't.
However, the good songs on Mezcal Head- For Seeking Heat, Duel, MM Abduction, etc...- are fucking good.
However, for some reason they chose to play Duress live, and that song bores the fuck outta me.
Same could be said of Raise, Ejector Seat Reservation and 99th Dream. I wouldn't say they suffer from a lack of hooks. I mean, if you get a chance, maybe gives songs like The Birds, How Does It Feel to Look Like Candy, Electric 77....shit...they've actually got a lot of good songs.
Apparently, they just don't give a shit about playing them live. Also a shame, because their records give you the feeling that they were giving big guitar atmospherics a Stooges punch.
Oh well...their show won't ruin the records for me, really. But it did suck.

Fuck it's weird how the same show can be so different to different folks. I thought they tore it up. Best part: drummer jumping out of his "throne" at the end of "Blowing Cool," smiling ecstatically and pointing his sticks at the equally ecstatic bassist. Assumed they nailed a part they'd screwed up previously. Seeing such uninhibited glee made it hard not to enjoy.
Mezcal Head inconsistent? "Duress" boring? I'm aghast.

I've tried to enjoy this band. I've given them many chances.
I do not like this band.
