Band: ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead

Even if by way of crafty seduction and heavy intoxication several years ago one could extract from me the mildest tip of the hat to one or two tracks from Source Tags and Codes, where I might say "well even a broken clock is right twice a day", that small gesture would have been immediately invalidated on the day Worlds Apart was released to the public.

So embarrassing was that record, that all faint echoes of anything respectable in their discogrophy has since evaporated.

Ahh... that explains MY hatred for the trainwreck, wannabe prog-rock band that I experienced.

This is the only CD I have heard, I bought it blind based on a recommendation on a couple "best of the year" lists a couple years ago.

Now I double check all recommendations on YouTube, iTunes, Allmusic, or something to catch some clips...

I can't deal with a loss of $15 like this again without some preparation, I was literally offended by how much I disliked this album.

Oh, so I already posted in this thread. I missed the point of this band completely - at what everyone says was their best (Madonna and Source..) they were entirely forgettable to me. I'm so not interested in checking how awful they are now.

^yeah I don't know what happened to this band. I guess 5 years on Interscope could do that, but I've never seen such mediocrity in my life.

It just seems like they've been in a bubble surrounded by industry leeches and "yes men", with no one offering any constructive criticism.

"you know, maybe we don't need a 10th keyboard track on this one" or "the open string blues is great and all, but lets try putting the other hand on the guitar and fretting some notes this time"
the truth can never hurt the true...
