75I think it would be an awesome good time to take something like that, gut it, and make a secret ripper. Like a Marshall 2203 circuit into a pair of ECL84s for a ~2 watt awesome little combo.thecr4ne wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2023 10:29 am pretty cool https://www.goodwillfinds.com/travel-an ... 67221.html

76Isn't this the bigger brother to the Decade that everyone's jizzing their jeans over 'cause Queens of the Stone age use them or something?
Re: The ugly gear thread...
77Indeed, yes it is. It's also the little sister to the Bandit 65.thecr4ne wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2023 10:47 am Isn't this the bigger brother to the Decade that everyone's jizzing their jeans over 'cause Queens of the Stone age use them or something?
I've often had the dream of just getting a couple Bandit 65 combos for either my noisy rock rig, or as stereo power amps with speakers for Helix. I always thought the Bandit 65s sounded terrible in a heartwarming way; like a warm memory of childhood camping where you were cold and hungry for half the trip.
Re: The ugly gear thread...
79Robert Quine famously liked the Bandit, and I think that was what the Pixies mostly used on their first album. Plus, all those boomers who traded in their vintage Fender stuff in for new Peaveys. Much like that camping trip - how could it not work?benadrian wrote: Thu Jul 20, 2023 4:51 pmIndeed, yes it is. 80Dude from Pissed Jeans still uses a Peavey thing like that live and in-studio. When we played with them, it was one of three combos he had on stage. It was super clear in the mix which one of those was the Peavey.
