Also. This isn't out yet but I can already tell that it's going to be one of my favorite albums of the year. Basically sounds exactly like the last couple of Part Chimp albums. Big, stupid low end riffs.

The reissue/first vinyl issue/expanded version of High Rise's 1992 album Dispersion is fantastic. Everything Black Editions does is impeccable and they've outdone themselves with the presentation on this one. This is a slower, looser, heavier High Rise that I am absolutely loving. Favorite song at the moment is Eucharist. I would think some folks here would be very into this.
Freezing Hands - Empty The Tank. Kinksish old guy hard pop from Tucson, featuring the incomparable Matt Rendon (Resonars) twiddlin' knobs and Keith Mooning all over the place.

Atlas from Laurel Halo has been making me weepy. Strong AOTY contender. Intensely beautiful and a little eerie. "Late Night Drive" is the one.
