Not sure I ever gave any thought on what Dylan Carlson's political views might be, but ugh.
If that's the only reason, boy that's the dummest hill to die on.
As far as it's been reported it's the exact reason. The band asked that the flag was removed, the venue refused and the concert got cancelled over it at the spot.

Reagan cast a long shadow in that respect (and alas, in many others).

He's very much a PNW libertarian. More guns, fewer laws, let people decide what to do.

Which is fine until you start ignoring how your inactions hurt others. He hasn't seemed to get to the second part of the simple equation. He and Thor Harris had it out over twitter during vax times.

Disappointing, not surprising. We often conflate the will of the people with the actions of their governments and punish the former because it's easier than confronting the latter.

The internet has broken my spelling brain so bad I had to look up whether my instinct for "latter" was correct in that usage.

He provided the gun to Kurt that he blew his head off with.

Well I hope the rest of the European tour audience know to bring their keffiyehs and flags and such. Bern tomorrow!

This is where the limits of my old-man-ness caught up with me. I joined the chorus of "why would anybody pay for this teenage bullshit, what a moron" and had no idea that Twitter actually rules humanity, but it really does. He basically bought modern thought, what little of it there is. And with his money he can afford to keep it going forever. But Hollywood propaganda is nothing new...so many evil countries to lambast, so much victimhood to claim. They premiered a Disney movie about Pearl Harbor in 2000 aboard an active duty US nuclear aircraft carrier affixed with a movie screen.
