Ripley is easily the best Netflix-produced thing I've seen.
Really consistent vision, all the acting is perfect. Scott's vision of a slightly over-the-hill version of Ripley is unique.
Beautifully shot. So much of the NF stuff looks cheap. Not this one.
It's slow until it's not, so if ya bail after 1-2 eps, you're not really watching it.
Re: Streaming Netflix/Hulu/etc. - what's good lately?
732Culinary Class Wars is so much fun. I'm not into cooking shows, but the premise is great - 80 of Korea's rising amateur chefs/eatery owners get thrown up against the 20 most famous (lots of Michelin stars). The judges are the only 3 star chef in Korea and the owner of a food/restaurant empire and they don't fuck around.
Round one is the 80 amateurs making their signature dishes for the two judges to try and get one of 20 places in the main competition.
There's a wide variety of fascinating, unique dishes and oddballs on display.
There's even a dinner lady in the group!

733Too lazy to look back in the thread, but I'm on the first season of Foundation on Apple TV and it is really good. I'm told it's not exactly 100% in line with the book, but I haven't read the book.
