Ripley is easily the best Netflix-produced thing I've seen.

Really consistent vision, all the acting is perfect. Scott's vision of a slightly over-the-hill version of Ripley is unique.

Beautifully shot. So much of the NF stuff looks cheap. Not this one.

It's slow until it's not, so if ya bail after 1-2 eps, you're not really watching it.

Culinary Class Wars is so much fun. I'm not into cooking shows, but the premise is great - 80 of Korea's rising amateur chefs/eatery owners get thrown up against the 20 most famous (lots of Michelin stars). The judges are the only 3 star chef in Korea and the owner of a food/restaurant empire and they don't fuck around.

Round one is the 80 amateurs making their signature dishes for the two judges to try and get one of 20 places in the main competition.

There's a wide variety of fascinating, unique dishes and oddballs on display.
There's even a dinner lady in the group!

Too lazy to look back in the thread, but I'm on the first season of Foundation on Apple TV and it is really good. I'm told it's not exactly 100% in line with the book, but I haven't read the book.

My brother told me to watch The Rig, on Prime, about a supernatural occurrence on an oil derrick in the North Sea. So this dude walks out onto the helicopter pad and his hair and unzipped jacket are motionless. So stupid.

I have watched a teaser of American Primeval and it looks promising, The first few scenes were obviously inspired by The Revenant. We'll see.

A Real Pain by Jesse Eisenberg was excellent, and Kieran Culkin's performance is truly incredible, I had no idea he was such a great actor.

I know it's not exactly new, but we've been watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I started watching it years ago but turned it off after a few episodes b/c I couldn't stand Andy Samberg's character. It's a little less grating to me now, maybe because my wife is watching it with me. It's a decent, funny half hour to wind down at the end of the day.

Captain Holt might be the best character on the show.
