This isn’t a criticism, but her being a secular, moderate leftist, woman probably made her job easier. Being a complete fucking asshole to a polite, articulate and clearly compassionate woman would feel dickish to all but the most sociopathic douche.

She made a very telling comment in the BBC doc that drew all the vitriol. I’m summarising, “The UK will never be 100% white again, so we all need to get along. That includes immigrants not expecting to recreate the society they came from.”

She’s an anti fundamentalist activist and woman’s rights advocate with Muslim communities and polar opposed to the kind of Islam that is portrayed as the threat by white nationalists. Looking at her bio, most of her activism and fighting misogynistic, theocratic assholes. Probably most of the violence threats she’s had came from her own community. So hats off all round.

I’m going to watch her other films. Very much my bag.

Oh, and Richard Spencer was absolute fucking cringe. Is he still a thing?

The thing is sometimes they don't hate the person, they hate the group, or the idea of the group, the other.

There's a named psychological phenomena, I can't remember what it's called, wherein bigots remove a particular person from the group they hold negative opinions of, so they are no longer considered black or muslim or whatever. I have seen this first hand with my former step-father and "Mexicans," and my wife has experienced this with her grandmother and her black friends. What I wonder is if this is what is happening here, especially with the older dude at the end.

They believe there's 3 million illegal immigrants voting in California, all on the payroll of the DNC, and every one of them is a criminal. I wish this all was bad enough to bring in the political will for a drastic immigration reform. We 100% absolutely need a lot of immigrants in our country. Illegal immigration has kept it functioning. If everyone can just admit it we can protect them from bad actors, and properly vet people coming in. We need a WIDE open door that everyone comes through and then is efficiently checked in. I hate to say it but we need to replace several thousand military police with several thousand pencil pushers. We need to decriminalize people working their asses off.

We can have immigration reform. We just can't have it with racists and bigots in positions of power in this government, more interested in holding power than actually doing anything material for regular Americans, let alone for the good of the actual country. Ain't even gonna be a thing other than "deport them all" with King Miller at the helm.
