Agree, it was excellent. Lots of thoughts about it. Great as a documentary piece on early Pavement. The segments with later-in-life Gary hit close to home on how much substances had taken their toll on him. Made me weepy at the end.

Yeah the ending especially was poignant but I also took away that he and his wife were both "This is Gary. This how Gary lives till he dies. We're at peace with it".

I saw this in the theater and there was like, 1 other person there? Thought the movie was just ok, I was expecting it to be funnier.

I love all his films, but they are an acquired taste. The next one to seek out is Berberian Sound Studio, which shares the audio engineering theme of Flux Gourmet, and then The Duke of Burgundy which I find his funniest and strangely most touching film. Both have great soundtracks.
