got the details through for 'my' bands first gig and some shithole pub in new x. starting to brick it. I guess cos with my other band its more 'one i play in', but this is mostly stuff I've written, mostly instrumental but I'm 'singing' a couple of songs.

Cripes.

EDIT: we're playing with a band called The Uncles Of Funk, which almost guarantees us going down like a sack of hot shit if they've brought a crowd.

Ultra cripes.

If you return and find the one with a line along the lines of "This smoking, talking Trans Am of an album is on turbo boost from track one onwards..." please let me know. I couldn't find it from a cursory scan, but I'm sure it was there five years back or so. I would like to read it again, as I believe the sentence was a much stronger one than my attempt.

Today I email copies of mine and my lady's birth certificates to the Mexican Consulate to for tranlsation into Spanish so we can get married in Mexico.

Tonight I begin a weekend of bachelor times involving bonfires, shotguns and good food with a bunch of friends.

Congratulations! Hope you have a great weekend...

I have a friend who is on placement at one of the schools I just applied to...apparently the Head of Department is impressed with my application, which is nice...and my friend is totally going to put in some good words for me...Back of the net!

would not see.

Something about the use of the word "uncle" in a band name.

Too many bad associations, beginning with "Uncle Mingo" and extending to anyone sharing that unfortunate naming convention.

I think there's something kind of creepy about choosing to be the "uncle" in perpetuity.

I might see a band called "Creepy Uncle" though. At least they're getting it out there.

At first I thought they were called Uncle Funkle, which would have probably been (slightly) better as it made me laugh. Once.

I'm picturing balding men playing the funk. Sports casual balding men.

Will not go well with instrumental 'math'/whatever.

I'd rather play with the uncles of fuck- bring on the nonce-core!
