No, you didn't miss anything, but I did over-edit--I was thinking one could just surmise enough context for it to make sense. To clarify, today I had an out-of-town meeting with a tech placement firm who have a connection to a very compelling job possibility. Yes, one of the people I met with was a Branca and Jandek fan, as well as a would-be Theremin player, which all bodes well--good vibe, and the fact that we connected over music should mean that I won't be lost in the general shuffle.

After not hearing back from them in response to a few emails and phone messages, I called again yesterday and learned that the Branca/Jandek fan is no longer employed there. Hmmm. The recruiting firm's site says "Throughout the whole process, you'll never be on your own." Really? We've had nothing but radio silence since the meeting. I had, at least, learned the identity of the end client from the recruiter, so yesterday I just went to the client's site and contacted them directly. Now the whole trip seems kind of pointless, but I did get to have that impressive waffle for breakfast the day after the meeting, so there's that.

Oh christ.

A girl I met through myspace a couple of years ago and briefly intended to start a band with messaged me out of the blue tonight. We started talking and she says we should meet at the upcoming Nick Cave gig and she'd like to come over to mine sometime.

the chick who lives under me just knocked on my door and gave me 100 bucks. A long time ago I let her hook up a wireless router to my internet so she could have it downstairs. She said she'd give me 20 bucks a month or whatever, I didn't really think she would and never expected it. Nice. There's a bass amp I saw on craigs for 75 bucks, might go pick it up in the morning.

This is the kind of thing that makes you suspect, even for a split second, that the human race isn't a bunch of cunts.
