Silkworm--13 times. Just counted it up. None with old line-up cause I was 17 and they didn't play in NoDak.

Sin Horses (GREAT Grand Forks band) countless times, each one excellent and special.

Chris Brokaw--6 or 7, with or without Come. Once with New Year.

Jesus Lizard as band of the 90's.....that's a tough one.

But I don't see why not, actually.

OKAY!

You should. That band was unbelieveable live. I've seen them three times and I envy mr. delay. The three best shows I've ever seen. my god.

we used to follow them around, and actally now that I think of it the total was most likley higher than that, evently they became freinds of ours Timmy was the sweetest guy on earth, and they were WAY better live than you could ever imagin, I saw them make mince meat of much large bands on a regular basis...

Dr Akaward has a video of a ton of live shows of theres, its not the greatest but you can tell how tight the band was, and some of the performances are just totally manic in the best way possible...

I have seen (edit: name of bad NYC band here) 4 times and I hate them. They are terrible! I only go to see the burning hot theremin player Pamelia Kursten who, sadly, plays out with them.

I have seen this band too! Mark is right! They are an awful, awful band of kitschy campy crap with Russian accents. But this theremin lady, she plays the theremin so nice! I don't know about the "hot," but she "smokes" on the theremin.

To be able to see her play the theremin without the bouncy torch-singing Natasha Badanov temptress oom-pa-pa half-assed Kurt Weill nonsense would be pretty great.

Aaaah, Barbez. Or is it Barbes? In any case, I think this is the band you are talking about. All the musicians in that band are friends of mine (except the singer) who are pretty much all in incredible other bands. I kinda like Barbes/z.

When I had more disposable income I saw bands three nights a week. Now I am lucky if I have time/funds to see one a month!

My frequently seen bands are like a lot of people's: Shellac (upawards of 10 times), Uzeda (5 or 6 times), Jesus Lizard (10+), Melvins, Mudhoney, Mekons (20+).

I will also admit to seeing a lot of bands that I now am embarrassed at having seen more than once, like the Red Hot Chili Peppers (even after Hillel died), assorted New York "scum rock" bands like Ed Gein's Car (when I practically lived at CBGB), and myriad avant-jazz bands.

I saw them about 12 times too (7 were in a row on a tour) and true to their DEVO inspirations, they devolved and got worse with each viewing in my opinion. The first time I saw them they were incredible...totally energy filled, totally squeezing it out, totally out of control yet somehow tight as tuperware. By the end I thought they were pretty silly actually and seemed to be playing 'rock stars'... pretty flat.

I've seen the Bitter Tears around 18 times.

Went through a Jon Spencer craze around Extra Width/jukebox singles/Orange...probably 7 times in 4 cities.
December 1993, Lounge Ax..wasn't old enough to get in, so we danced to their set with blankets in the alley & got frisked by cops. Waited by a van with NY plates until 3am and bought a Shirt Jac t-shirt.
dorks we were.

are.

I worked that show...was it the Wed night one? Their first time at Lounge Ax? It was so good. Not many people there actually... maybe 100 at the most. Didn't know you were in the alley. Too bad we didn't figure a way for you to see the show.
