Less sampling points, but this does not affect the response. If you read about Nyquist again then you'll understand. Get the idea of "less sampling points = less transparent" out of your head first and think about Fourier series - the Nyquist theory is quite clever.

I know we don't hear above 20kHz, but I believe we "feel" these frequencies in a way. Things sound differently when they're not there.

God, Pyramix. How do your colleagues find it?


It seemed to mainly be the Classical guys that liked it, I'm guessing maybe because of this DSD format. They have a habit of buying obscure systems. They still like Sadie which I haven't really got around to learning about. The hardware is quite nice though. Regarding noisy PCs and Macs - these are only really bearable if you have a separate apparatus room, although some people seem to overlook this.
