I don't want a list. It kind of cheapens the thread when you turn it into a list of shit to project an image of yourself. Try again.

What image am I trying to project, exactly? I'm not the one who asked a high schooler for a thread idea.

No. You're just the one who spent thirty minutes typing a reply to said high-schoolers thread idea. I'm seventeen.

I just wanted an excuse to talk about how much I loved man or astro-man and find out why other people felt so strongly about some of their favorite bands. If you explained your selections in detail it would make for a better thread. I honestly want to hear your reason for Ministry being on your list.

Because he's into guys.

I actually liked that Lard stuff so I can't talk.

Hahaha, I was just fuckin' around. I came up with that list in a couple of minutes.

Ministry's one of my favorite bands because of the strange direction Al Jourgensen took to making music. First it was cheesy, new wave. Then it turned into a hard-beat industrial project, after that, into a head-pounding electro/punk band. Now it's seizure inducing metal. How can I go wrong with Ministry? Every side-project the guy's had, was great, from Pailhead with Ian Mackaye, to Lard with Jello Biafra.

You've got the screen-name "Sphincter", and I'm into guys? Is your name a comment on the way you look?

It's the only way I'll be able to achieve the sound I hear in my head.

I actually think it could be better than Entertainment!, especially with the Another Day, Another Dollar EP tacked on at the end. Andy Gill was one hell of a guitarist...

Two different versions of "To Hell With Poverty!", which is too fucking badass. The second one is from 1983 with Sara Lee on bass, but it is still really ass-kickingly awesome despite everything I've been told about Go4 going to shit after Dave Allen left. As a side note, what kind of guitar is Andy Gill using in the second video? It looks interesting...

I agree with every single word of this post.

PS- They did go to shit after Dave left, but that doesn't mean this performance isn't good.

Do you think there was a causal connection between Dave's departure and them turning to shit?

I don't have a favorite band; there are five or six that I've listened to a lot and revisited often over time. (I omit the list so as not to offend.) I invest albums, songs, and parts of songs with enormous significance and value, and find thinking about favorite music more interesting than refining a personal canon of bands.

Hey. Awesome. One of my best friends is a rabid fan...I'm pretty sure he has their entire official catalog. He is also homeless, so I am storing it for him...at the price of being allowed to listen to it. He/they are pretty fantastic, for that thing they do...
