And how fucking cool is this? I'd love to have this just to run down to the liquor store to pick up a few 12-packs. Also made by another local builder...Rick Hunter.

I can't get behind the rectangular stays or the top tube, down tube, head tube plate thing.

I love 'em. It's even cooler looking in person. Totally adds to the whole "utilitarian" feel. Swobo just makes cool bikes in general though.
EDIT: To show a picture of the bottle opener under the seat...c'mon, that's fucking cool.

the "daily" ride - 1977 schwinn super le tour 12.2 -
the monday night bike - 1974 schwinn paramount p14 track bike -
custom-built lemond 'zurich', c.2000. was traded for with an engineer at trek, for a pile of posters. i got this bike in 2001.
and the touring bike - klein 'performance, c.1990 -
and in action:
this whole post is copied and pasted from last summer, on another forum. the klein has been replaced by a surly long haul trucker.

I'm not sure I understand the need for a tri-spoke wheel on a fixed on the road. Will someone explain it to me?

Bunny hop over an oncoming car and flip a table top - the tri-spokes will provide lift and sail you over the intersection.
