I have no idea what kind of music these fruits make and I have no desire to hear it, based on these descriptions.

Never listened to Haircut 100, either, whoever the hell they are.

But here, from the sadly disappeared web reviewer CapnMarvel, in a review of Neil Young's Trans:

"Hell, Haircut 100 had a career, didn't they? Their songs all sounded like some Tom Jones wannabe gargling cottage cheese over a backing provided by an industrial microwave oven filled with little armored frogs, and they did okay."

Does this (amazing) description encompass Vampire Weekend's music?

Maybe I'm losing my edge, but I finally got around to watching a couple YouTube videos, and I didn't hate it. I might refrain from using a burned copy of their CD as a coaster, and I may even stay in the room to watch them if someone paid my way to their show.

Keeping in mind that I haven't seen the alleged turd they laid on SNL.
