It's a hammond yes, but it also needs two extra tubes and a transformer if you were to try to add it to an amp.

Get the Fender outboard tank unit. You can use it with any amp and it will sound amazing forever.

It does sound great though. At the very worst, it's just another tonal option for a negligble amount more.

I can't recommend this pedal, blue or red (anniversary) model enough.
I can't believe how great it sounds.

I have a Vox Valvetone which I A/B-ed with my friend's blue fulldrive II. I liked them about the same. But I tend to really like MOSFET circuits.

So, you wanna trade the red for a blue?
