I actually like "Raygun...Naked Raygun"

I don't get The Smiths and don't understand why Johnny Marr is considered a brilliant guitarist.

I've sold back Fugazi "Repeater" twice but have never considered selling back Gentle Giant's "Free Hand".

I don't want to watch a live band if I'm not familiar with their music.

Indie-lite ala Feist makes me want to smoke crack and listen to GG Allen.

Pere Ubu's Dub Housing, although lionized ad nauseam by many smart people, was actually a tremendous falling-off from the material they had previously recorded, and, although there are three or four pretty neat songs on it, the rest of the album modulates between bland dinky-dink and unlistenable "experimentation".

Agreed.

"In general" being the key clause, though. Sometimes live shows can be incredible. But those are becoming increasingly few and far between.
