i do this all the time. i think it's my way of 'soloing' but i think it's more of an arrangement.
i only play a proper solo on only song, it's a slow tender song (think galaxie 500 or luna). i think i sound a bit like a drunk and sloppy version of richard hawley guitar playing, and that's fine with me.
