His fault.
Ok, but I guess what I was asking is who's fault is when this kid winds up in a coma from random fans stomping him?
1. From the evidence, this terrible tragedy didn't even come close to happening.
2. In this hypothetical universe, it would be the fault of whoever stomped the kid to death, that he got stomped to death.
Of course, I agree that he opened the door to it but the singer could have easily just told security to simply eject him instead going on a kill-crazy rant. I think it was really irresponsible how he handled it.
Nothing happened. This thing, essentially, is nothing.
If anything, I think it's:
a) kind of inadvisable to ask people not to throw things at you, as it will invite such behavior, and
b) kind of dumb that 'faggot' and so forth is the best the guy can do when he's trying to dress someone down.
c) kind of weird to act all manly and tough when you're many yards away from being able to actually touch anybody.
But yelling at the kid and throwing a water bottle at him, OK, sure. Take your licks, such as they are. He threw a shoe at you and shit. Maybe it will make you feel better to yell at him and throw a water bottle at him.
I once called a guy out from stage who was being an idiot and yelling a lot all through a show. He was an Everclear fan who was there to see Everclear.
I told him to meet me by the side of the stage afterwards so I could knock his teeth in.
I did this without laying eyes on him, which is inadvisable.
I was relieved to find that no one was waiting for me after we got done.
Dumb move. But I am not a fighting man by any stretch. Perhaps Josh Homme is a fighting man.
The best reactions to audience displeasure are those that absorb it. I instantly respect anyone I see do this.
