The one that they showed last night, about Michael Phelps and his snoring bulldog (and what a typical day of eating for Phelps is comprised of) was amusing.

A lot of them are emotionally manipulative. I realize they can't do these things about every athlete, but I wish they would do them for some of the regular joe athletes. Like the guy on the crew team who is also an investment banker, or the air rifle woman who is a stay at home mom. I am sure these people exist. I want to see them.

Some of the sniping about the ‘fake’ elements of the games in the press here is really annoying me. The fireworks were digitally enhanced, they have cheerleaders, the girl mimed… blah blah blah – just show the sports please and shut up – Girl mimes singing in enormous stadium to audience of billions is not a “scandal”. I wonder if they will hold the London games to the same bizarre standards of authenticity. I doubt it.

Also there is not enough beach volley ball coverage in the UK.

Phelps is incredible. Seriously amazing. I’m beginning to suspect he is genetically modified and is actually part dolphin.

Agreed. They have empty seats so they bring a load of people in for free? Nothing wrong with that. The entertainment is fixed up to guarantee it's entertaining? Fine. On with the show.
