the thing about tatoos is this - you know that quip about keeping your mouth shut, so even if everyone thinks you are might be idiot, you don't go yappin' and prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt?

if you have lousy taste, or trendy tendencies, or lame-ass aesthetic judgment, or even if you suspect that you might - don't go gettin a tatoo, cuz then everyone will know, without a doubt, that you are lame. maybe not now, but 5, 10, 20 years from now, your White Stripes tat is gonna be pretty stupid.

plus, tats are just like piercings. very mainstream, very trendy. every dickwad high school jock boy and his chik got tats, why bother? it seems so ... done.

I use them to commemorate significant things in my life...to remind me of how important some things were to me when I am older and different. I use them to try to keep me grounded in the things, places, people and times that they represent. I only have three, but I imagine I will have more. They do not exist to impress anything upon anyone else.
