Those vertical blinds needs to be replaced STAT.Vertical blinds are hideous.normally I'd agree, but they are actually look exceptional in my place. it's due to the height and narrowness of the main room, as well as the huge window size. seriously, they're incredible. horizontal blinds would have to be 6 feet long to cover the windows if I didn't want to have 3 different sets. that would be cluttery bullshit.they stay! go decorate your own place, hippie!

My Samsung D-600 (all the way from 2006!) bit the dust last night after drunkenly hitting it against a table in a way of proving how much it can take.I need something fairly new, easy to get used to for someone who hasn't had a new phone in ages and most importantly of all - fairly affordable. Here's a cell phone thread. it might be out of date as it's 2 yrs old, but there's some solid advice therein.I've been happiest with my LG phones over the years. sturdy, reliable, and hold charges well. Can anyone recommend a good air mattress? I have an office that I'd like to be able to convert into a guest room from time to time. I know most air mattresses are relatively similar, but I've had some friends whose mattress pump was a complete pain in the ass.

for storing 7inches - I use comic book boxes. http://www.tcbulk.com/scripts/prodview. ... roduct=469They are portable, stackable. Alas, they are not attractive, nor do they display the records. If I bought pot lid holders, I would have about 20 of the damned things.

I'm looking for a shelf or a rack or whatever as a solution to how I currently store my 7" record collection. I have a bunch of them and currently they're not being stored at all, really - they just sit in a pile on top of my dresser. This is not the way 7" records are meant to be stored, naturally. Not looking for anything fancy, just something that will get the job done!

Suggestions?Atlanta blows.Go to North Carolina. The Triangle area (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) is pretty awesome, but it's where everyone wants to live and is beginning to be seriously blighted by suburban sprawl. Still, it's a great place to live.I miss NC.

I picked up an ikea rationell variera pot-lid holder:$3it fits all of my 7 in a pleasing and easy to browse through manner:besides the artwork is the best thing about records. with this set up, I'm able to have a constantly changing view of the artwork. I've used it for 12, too, but those get heavy.regardless, make sure you screw the thing into a stud, or use mollys. even 7 are weighty. What the F, Brainiac record is that???

We're going with one mic on each instrument live to 4 tracks (1/2 inch, guitar/bass/farfisa/drums). Drummer's got some tubs and a whole lotta ride action.I know it should be in tech room, but since this thread is so FRESH and this is a current need, why not?(I may cheat with an extra kick mic, but I'd rather not).Gracias!Find an old Radio Shak PZM and go with that.Hey 30peak.This may not be totally helpful, but my first post on this forum was about doing a one mic recording with a 3 piece guitar, drums, keys and vocals band. vocals were overdubbed, but the basics were live to one mic.Granted, we got to use a neumann as the 1 mic, but a lot of the principles may still be the same. we set up in an equilateral triangle around the mic (we measured it out), matched the drums and then raised and lowered the volume of the amps to match. figure eight pattern helped in creating the illusion of stereo. straight through a light compression to a computer. done.In the end, the kick sounded like a basketball, but everything else balanced. with a 4 piece, I'd recommend setting up in a diamond pattern around the mic (2 equilateral triangles) and trying something with the nicest large-diaphragm condenser you have. Add additional mics to taste. I got into more specifics in the thread.cheers.Excellent and timely. Gracias.
