Oh Christ, what a boring band. honestly, Sebastian Bach was a ton more fun (dude can still wail), who wasn't as good as the suicide girls burlesque show that opened. Since it was at the rosemont horizon*, there wasn't really a "backstage area". Instead, we would have to wait until after the show (show didn't end until 1:30 before the encores) to be taken to the 'catering area' for the after show stuff. Honestly, they were so boring, we left before the encore. We left before Paradise City, they were so boring.

I got some funny dirt on axl (he has both his own tour bus and his own plane for the tour) and in the three months mike's friend had been working on the tour, he had yet to meet axl. Also, Eagles of Death Metal were supposed to do the tour, but they talked shit about axl, so he kicked them off (during the set a few nights prior, he asked th crowd: "Hey, you guys like the eagles of death metal?!?!" "whooo!!!!!" "well that was their last show!")

GNR did start pretty strong (welcome to the jungle to it's so easy, to mr. brownstone to live and let die (which was pretty great)), but it quickly dropped off to four different 'spotlight solos' for the three guitar players and dizzy reid, which were long and terrible and took up maybe 40mins of the 2hr set. snooooore. Tommy Stinson of the replacements was pretty good on bass, and the guy from nin was a pretty great guitar player for that kinda shit, but the others were pretty crap.

Sadly, the show was so boring, there were no stories to tell.

Ah, driven out by boredom before even "Paradise City?" Before any backstage shenanigans could be witnessed? Such disappointment I feel.

Appetite is a great album, and got listened to as much as Master of Puppets, Reigning Blood, Among the Living, NWA & the Posse, Age of Quarel, Superfuzz Bigmuff, Music For The Masses, Screaming Life, Yo!...Bumrush the Show, Nothing's Shocking, and other good stuff from that time.

The only people who didn't like that record were stuck up little malcontents who didn't want to own up to their own Metalness and offend Calvin Johnson.

And Axl was right, Courtney was a bitch.
So was Kurt.

drag. i was hoping for some lunchmeat and deaf girls. thought gnr2002 was pretty enjoyable - think they may have only had two guitarists back then though...
