I posted what I did because of what I read night about Killing Floor/Lemon Song, and because I enjoyed reading both lyrics. I'd be the one the last to insinuate that LZ used blues elements in an unoriginal way. Their influences show clearly, but it's an novel interpretation that has been buzzing my noodle in a big way of late.

This wasn't directed at you or anyone in particular. In fact, I hadn't even noticed your post. It's just a common criticism I've often heard about Led & the Zepplins.

I want to start a band called Goldn Blimp. We'll be like Led Zepplin except better in both ways.

..humm.. 9 and a half!!

You're just wrong. Led Zeppelin have written an embarrasingly large number of great songs and recorded several near-perfect LPs. They define NOT CRAP in most every way.

The greatest rock drummer. Ever.

One of the greatest bass guitarists. Ever.

A brilliant guitarist who while often prone to wank in the live setting, wrote some of the most balls-out riffs ever put to tape. And when a Jimmy Page solo is going well, it's going very fucking well.

A singer who did what he did very well. Probably the best possible singer for this band. I like Robert Plant. Not a popular opinion, but I stick by it.

III?
Physical Graffiti?
Houses of the Holy?
Presence?
most of IV?
much of I and II?
the first version of "Communication Breakdown" on disc 1 of the BBC Sessions?

Sorry.

Maybe listening to Zeppelin at the tender age of 9 was too much for your larval ears. Here's a suggestion: try listening to their music now that your balls have dropped.

Hey, I actually dig that stuff! Sort of. I don't imagine I'd just sit down to listen to it often, but I like bluegrass enough to give it the occasional spin.

Reminds me of a very entertaining country band that covers AC/DC called Hayseed Dixie.
