Crap...i listened few records of them...only one was almost ok...the rest was awful

Production was always irritating and I can't stand the the drums.

Often they sound like the overproduced British variant of You're Living All Over Me-era Dinosaur Jr., with safer guitar tones, being fronted by Lenny Kravitz before he started giving blowjobs to dogs.

"Rave Down" while being a great tune just sounds like an awful, dated name for a song. I suspect without studying them that the lyrics are just awful. Still, not bad overall. And Adam Franklin does some great stuff with the guitar, even if the production buries the dynamics and excitement in a wash of compression and limiting.

I'm mostly in agreement with you, esp. re. the production which, yeah, made a lot of the records sound like Jane's Addiction's Dino Jr. record. This was also a weakness live, as all that compression just meant kinda not very bracing volume.

Thing is, Adam Franklin is actually a great singer, and his voice is what makes the band most of the time. And, bored and boring as he might be presence-wise, his voice does sound good live.
