Saw that Floatie is playing the Beat Kitchen this week. I’ll be at work, so, not even an option for me

All set to see Mint Mile at the Hideout this weekend.

Never been to the Hideout (apologies, exurbanite here). Potentially stupid question: do they actually open at 6 PM like their hours say or do they stay closed until the "doors open" time of 7:30 PM?

Will likely be in the area well in advance of the show and if Hideout isn't open until 7:30 PM will be looking for other bars close-by to hang out. Any recommendations?

The Hideout has a bar in the front that you can hang out in starting at 6. The doors for the "back room" (where music happens) won't open until 7:30.

Explodamo is Jon San Paolo (who many of you have worked with in the studio. Backing him up are John B (Dummy, Hungry Man), Neal (too many bands to list), and me. This will be our first show in Chicago...and on a personal note, this will the first indoor show I've performed at in 3+ years and I'm pretty excited about it. Hope you all will consider coming to hang out.
