Even though we've been playing out for two years, this still feels like my "new" band. This is from a quick session we did at the studio space we practice at the same time we did the last song we posted. This was one of the last things the guitarist and I worked on in our prior band but never finished enough to play live.
a new collection of semi-improvisational sketches, this time for electro-acoustic guitar, wurlitzer electric piano, and maestro rhythm king drum machine. lots of space echo, lots of tape hiss and warble, and lots of leaving things up to chance.
i'm releasing this album as part of bandcamp's fundraiser to support musicians affected by the recent LA wildfires. this one's deeply personal; the palisades were my home for nine years and watching them burn was, and remains, an absolute gut-punch.
on friday, february 7th -- which is likely when you're reading this -- 100% of bandcamp's proceeds will be donated to musicares. musicares provides emergency financial aid, mental health support, and essential health services to artists in need. i'll also be making a separate donation to wildfire relief efforts.
thanks for reading and thanks for listening. don't quit.
