Michio Kaku's Hyperspace was a fun and interesting read back in college. I like going back to it whenever I get frustrated with the vastness of outer space.

For me anxiety comes not so much from the volume of space as from the sheer number of possible futures (exciting ones and horrifying ones).

Science fiction is fun but, as it says on the label, fictional.
The intelligences that manipulate and deceive humanity are pretty obviously just other humans, and not even especially competent ones.

When I was a kid I thought that you could skip a stone or otherwise disturb a body of water and that interference would create a new universe(s) on an infinitesimal level.

Wasn't it Arthur C Clarke who imagined space elevators and now we have a International Space Elevator Consortium? Things imagined, even outlandish things, might have the capacity to become real the more knowledgeable we get.

Some say that science fiction can predict the future, but what it really does is inspire us, and we create the future.

Could be predetermined. I'd guess this would allow for time travel, yes?

One noteworthy thing that I forgot to mention:
All UFO sightings seem to be done from Earth. No satellites or space stations finding UFOs.

I've seen alleged footage of craft in motion from satellites or wherever but in no way would vouch for their validity. Also, it was previously mentioned that UAP is strictly an American phenomenon and that's patently false. Whether it's valid or not remains to be seen, but there are a lot of experiences said to happen outside of the States.
Who among us has seen a UFO/UAP? Any good stories?
My friend Mike and I were up late goofing around in the desert North of Phoenix in 1994 and saw three green triangles suddenly appear above us. They seemed to be far off in the upper atmosphere, but I’m not entirely certain. It blew our minds and made us a little nervous.
I was standing outside of Macy’s Coffee in Flagstaff with the same Mike and we noticed a bright light to the West, above Mars Hill. The sun had just set, and I figured it was Venus or a weather balloon. A man in a black van and a French accent noticed us looking at it from across the street and walked up to us with a pair of powerful binoculars. “Would you like to see it?” he asked, and handed me the binocs. I saw a bright orb with three rectangles in the center. The man said “They are here. They’ve been here a long time.” He walked back to his van and left us standing there wondering what just happened.
My uncle saw a strange craft land in the pasture of his farm, but he was really drunk at the time and wasnt 100% sure it actually happened.

I ain't seen shit which is total bullshit. I enjoyed reading your experiences though. Are you or any of your homies close to Marfa? Do you know about or have seen the lights?
Dr. Steven Greer is a famous ufologist and has a practice called CE5 in which one develops a certain technique in getting to make "contact" with these vehicles. And, yeah, I know how this all sounds to cynics and non-believers but I don't care. It's interesting to me, much like the occult or psionics were in my youth.
