It does nothing for me, and neither does O Brother Where Art Thou. I like all of the other Coen Bros movies I’ve seen.

I also do like some other Coen films.

But this one has several lengthy scenes that are just excruciating to sit through.

And considering the acting talent in the movie, I can only blame the writing.

This discussion does make me want to watch Raising Arizona, however.

Coen Bros. films usually get funnier the more I watch them. I wasn't that impressed with Burn After Reading initially but now I love it. Intolerable Cruelty is packaged like a shitty rom-com but it's a scream. George Clooney's comic timing is impeccable.

I really should love Bloody Marys but I don't. I love everything that goes in them: olives, asparagus, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, lemon, lime, black pepper, celery salt, hot sauce, garlic ... can't say I love celery but it's OK. I love the idea of having Bloody Marys with friends the morning after a long night of partying, I love the idea of a breakfast hangover drink that replenishes your precious bodily fluids and essential vitamins with tasty healthy vegetables to munch on and some booze to smooth it all over ...

But I hate tomato juice. I love marinara sauce, love pico de gallo, love salsa, love all tomato-based soups, love a nice tomato slice on a burger or sandwich, in general love me some mumaters but that shit makes me gag. I can't even get it down my throat. I'm not a huge fan of vodka either but sometimes booze is booze.

So y'all enjoy those Bloody Marys, they look pretty good. Offer me an olive, I'll be the guy dumping tequila in his morning coffee.

A properly made Bloody Mary disguises the tomato juice taste with spices. Tomato juice is disgusting.

I have yet to hear a George Carlin bit that I found to be actually funny. He seems like my kind of people, I just never found him funny or even witty.
