I hope the whammy only affects the treble strings.

In his head, it was spectacular
Hmmm. While not an attractive guitar in the conventional sense, this could almost redeem itself if it plays well. If nothing else it is unique, something most people haven't seen before.

Put a Floyd Rose on it, though, and any goodwill goes flying down the drain.

LOL.
The inset bridge detail photo definitely suggests that!

I think the treble half is probably more like a hardtail strat bridge and the vibrato bar is non-functional (SADLY)

What if it somehow controls a B-bender on the strat side that thematically matches the tele side?

This guitar is what happens when you say “OK boomer” three times in a row into the mirror.

I think if they had handed Kurt Kobain a Coronado for his Jag-Stang, he would have said it's a little wide, but it'll do. Supposedly his favorite guitars when nobody was looking were lawsuit Les Paul copies and Ibanez Artists, but at the time, these had a real guitar hero connotation. Moreso, maybe, than the obvious (to me) Jackson Dinky and Ibanez RG. I guess the superstrat with a Floyd Rose was ascendant but not quite yet de rigeur when he was still forming opinions.

Well, those things also weigh a ton compared to a Mustang or Hi-Flyer. Didn't he have a messed up back or something? Even though I play a Les Paul, they still have a bit of that macho/expensive stink to them.
