I was initially thinking she was age-inappropriate, but looked her up and she's 35... no longer feel awkward to call her a crush.

This one is a platonic crush: Chloë Grace Moretz. Yes she is very pretty but I still see her as a kid aka Hit-Girl from Kick-Ass. Kind of same way I feel about Natalie Portman: to me she'll always be Mathilda. Anyway I just watched Shadow in the Cloud which was very entertaining despite having major plot holes and totally unrealistic action sequences, and I've been enjoying her various films because she tends to play smart and resilient girls and women. Maybe I'm getting old but I don't feel any sexual attraction to women I've watched grow up. What I do feel is joy at seeing bad-ass female roles. Even though it's just Hollywood, it gives me a tiny bit more hope for young women. Of course I would rather see the real-life version, and I do know lots of kickass chicks, but I rarely get to see them literally kick some ass. This is off topic but I was hanging outside a bar many years ago and a guy was fucking with my friend and his wifey came out and slammed the dude into a plate glass window which unsurprisingly scared the fuck out of the guy and was probably the coolest thing I ever saw happen at that dive. Tough broads rule.

I met Joanna Newsom in 2003 when she was touring with Will Oldham. None of us had ever heard of her and we all stood there agog while she played. After her set she was standing by herself and I approached her and told her I really enjoyed her music. She smiled and said "Thank you! Everyone here in Flagstaff is SO NICE!" I was like "Oh dear God, I think I just fell in love with you."
