This is a long song, and it's a live recording, but I don't know of any better nighttime driving music when you can go really fast. Always gets my heart pumping and my 'air keys' going.
I raise you in the long song department:

That Flaming Lips track is my fave from them. It's one of the most "normal" songs they've done in an "alternative/indie rock" context. Love it.

^ so great! I've always considered that FLips tune to be kindred spirits with "God Walks Among Us Now," just a little sparklier, and I'm always happy to hear Marnie Stern. "Put All Your Eggs In One Basket And Then Watch That Basket!!!" is the business. Frantic, erratic, and ecstatic!
"Roy Sullivan" from Upper Wilds rips through the atmosphere like GBV on a rocket heading towards the sun.
When mere words won't do "ahhs" work just fine. Love this short blast of soaring rock music from The Wedding Present. Maybe a thunderdome with the similarly titled Elton John song is in order. Vote Gedge. Vote often.

most of this hovers like a helium balloon but it zips right out there a few times!
