Why on earth I never considered Napalm Death. It's obviously Napalm Death. Sorry Corrupted.

Swans do the thing in an entirely different way. I saw them in 1985ish and they scrambled my brain.
I have seen Neurosis twice and I like them and they were really good, but they are just a rock band, with guitar solos and all that stuff. I do love the way the guitar tones mesh, but for me they are nothing extra ordinary.
Kowloon Walled City is as good or better, with fewer people, no keyboards and just Scott's ragged ass voice. I saw them in a small club where the bass amp just really loaded up the room, they were WAY heavier. (Bass player in KWC, you rule)
Never saw Godflesh.
Honorable mention to Harvey Milk, Melvins, Sunn, Earth, Einsturzende Neubauten, also Spotlights, Monolord.
Swans.
