Late pass, but I have a single channel AD30 combo (the older, single channel version). It's a very nice sounding amp (imo), but I can understand how it might not be for everyone. The reverb is not great, and the sweep of the tone controls is pretty limited - you're going to plug in and either like it or hate it. The name, tube compliment, and form factor are going to draw AC30 comparisons, but having owned a decent AC30 (korg-era) I kinda like this better. For the doom type stuff, I think the real reason that crowd gravitated toward the originals (other than aesthetics) is large value coupling caps meant that the treated down-tuning a little more favorably.
If you dig around you'll find lots of complaints about the lack of headroom, which I think is a very fair complaint. It's not a hiwatt, it's probably a rotten choice for a clean pedal platform (get a JC120 jeez), but when you set it for a nice slightly overdriven sound, you can push it into blown out grind with a boost pretty easily and it sounds great. I think the newer, twin channel version solves this by having two entirely separate preamp stages (including phase inverters iirc) that you can set for varying levels of gain/volume and a slightly better-spec'd OT that maybe improves the headroom a little?
I just use a boss LS-2 to set two gain/volume levels and A/B between them and it solves the headroom issue, ymmv.
Anyway! That's my ted talk on the orange AD30R. Also, orange amps are the best looking beat up amps, this is undeniable.
I don't really hate much if any gear, but I find 125B pedals with two switches very frustrating to use in practice because I am a clod. I have two on my pedalboard and I'm always afraid I'm going to hit the wrong switch.

You don't have to be a clod to dislike this. Yeah they only work if they're on their own, but on a pedalboard they're fucking annoying. I had a Count to 5 and I had to get rid of it because I could never hit either of the switches without hitting either both switches or the switch of the next pedal over.

LOL I wont put two footswitches on anything close to that small. Whether you're using one or not, footswitches should be far apart enough to fit a 9V battery between them, IMO.

I thought someone made one that 'permanently' affixed to the backs of headstocks and you could just flip it out as needed? Maybe they didn't work well and got discontinued because I cannot seem to find them online. This seemed like the best way to have both the convenience of clip tuner w/out the dopey look. The obv downside is having to buy multiples if you use multiple guitars on stage.

Just never understood those things at all. They tune terrible, you gotta turn down to tune and not drive people nuts. Just get a pedal tuner. they work great and lots come in little mini pedal format. I even have a cheapo Donner tuner that seems to work as well as any other tuner I've had.
