Every time I put it on the master it ends up elevating the mix. It's sometimes kinda subtle but still very much there.
I've never tried an intelligent EQ before. I mean, I've used Ozone's AI, but I never liked the results, even as a starting point. I'm curious about all the AI EQs that have come out, though. Hard to justify getting one, I have 3 great EQs I use for mix busses and mastering.

After my PC crashed I’ve only installed the Izotope plug-ins that I use the most. Thought I see if there’s anything worth reinstalling last weekend. Could no longer sign in to the manager, tried to install the new manager which just would not install properly . Stuff like that drives me nuts!
FWIW I logged into and updated to the new version of Manager with no issues and everything seems to be working OK for me, including plugin updates.
Thanks for checking! Will have to look into it next weekend. I wasn’t able to log in with the old manager version and the new version just wouldn’t work.

Had to delete all appdata of the product manager and then was able to install the new version. Everything up to date now. also reinstalled the Iris sample/synth which is a pretty cool instrument.

I haven't liked any of them. I feel like I can hear what I want a few to do and they are simple tools. Not sure how intelligent I need them to be. Ozone is great if you do not use it's AI (not really) automatic features. As a suite of high quality tools it's great and not as expensive as buying all the Fab stuff which is it's nearest neighbor. I bought in at V5 so I feel a little stuck with it but it works great and I'm used to it. Neutron is a hog though and mostly not useful to me.

I went and got an intelligent limiter. I had my eye on the sonible smart:limit, also watching for the sale of something like the Pro-L. I downloaded the smart:limit demo and tried it on a bunch of tracks. It just sucked me right in on how easy and fun it was to use, it was on sale for a fraction of what Pro-L goes on sale for, so I pulled the trigger.

It has a bunch of useful metering on dynamics and loudness. I have been using Metric AB at the end of my master bus for awhile now, and I found that having the meters from the limiter useful, with Metric giving a more detailed view into things. A killer combo!

My master bus has been: compressor > eq > saturator > clipper > limiter > volume > meters

Does anyone have experience with headphone studios? I've been interested, but they can be quite expensive. I don't have the best physical space for mixing and I've been using my headphones more often than not since I'm usually doing it at home when my kids are sleeping. Since upgrading my headphones, it's been a real game changer with hearing previously unheard frequencies, but there's still some things missing that I'd like to close the gap on. It's an interesting time in the audio world with pure headphone mixing becoming a real thing.

I came across dsoniq, which looks interesting. $99 doesn't really seem like a bad price for studio virtualization. There are other brands out there, this one will work with most headphones (mine are listed under supported headphones), instead of requiring one from the plugin creator (like VSX).

At any rate, there's a 41 day trial to use dsoniq, I was going to give it a whirl.

There is a dude on YouTube named Paul Third with a lot to say about that stuff including customizing EQ curves for mixing targets. It's interesting but I haven't gone too far with it. I hear the Slate version of the thing is good because it comes with some sort of calibrated headphones.

So, I spent some time with dsoniq Realphones. I really like it, being able to flip between different types of speakers and rooms. You can set up snapshots and easily switch between different speaker setups. I was even able to match my studio monitors! I can see this becoming an invaluable tool.

While testing it out, it went on sale for half price for the Standard edition. Couldn't pass that up.
