Let's play pretend that you noise rock dorks wouldn't cream in your jeans if you saw this in a small club back in 95 and somebody told you the band were on T&G or Alternative Tentacles:
Saw them around the time Angel Dust came out with Babes In Toyland opening. Had a friend who was trying to convince me they weren't a dumb joke band anymore, so I went along. It was boring. Everything about them projected uptight and try-hard. Nothing about that show changed my view that they were a band of convenience built on a stack of gimmicks. Saw Boredoms around the same time. They were wild and fun. FNM were neither- too self-serious to be funny and too much of a goof to be taken seriously.

aging gracefully like Uncle Al
What a thread. The forum at absolute loggerheads over this one. Torn in two. Ripper asunder. Blood and thunder.

The top-tier FNM songs imo:
1st album: Mark Bowen, Why Do You Bother, As the Worm Turns. Introduce Yourself: Faster Disco, Chinese Arithmetic, Death March, RnR, The Crab Song, Blood, Spirit. Angel Dust: Caffeine, Malpractice, Kindergarten, A Small Victory, Jizzlobber.
I think if you try a few of these and you can't get with them, this band isn't likely to grow on you.

Mr. Bungle > Faith No More
It’s all just so bad. Music for mid-wits to wear shorts to.
