Ok, so like, what do you mean. In Tampa we have a small collective of people who are into noise too. You know, taking apart Harp Odysseys and making them sound retarded... with shitty drum loops and uh, I dunno, something else that sounds like crap. and then they release them on cassette tape and throw meat at people while they are playing. Wait, that's actually great, but still... I don't get it. I could not sacrifice listening to a beautiful melody for constant horrible noise. Maybe ears are tuned differently. Maybe colors are relative. Who knows.

I lived in Waukesha during my high school years. Got involved with a lot of stuff going on back then. I mean, just out of curiosity, caus emy scope really never branched outside of the shaw, what is the scene like in Milwaukee now? and then (as in 10 years ago)?

like, as soon as you like it, and want to hear it, it ceases to be "noise"?

Wow, that's a really good point. Perhaps "noise" is a signifier for avant-garde, non-traditional-tonality, loudness...chaos.

Maybe chaos rock is the better term.

All sorts of different tastes, right. Myself, I think there's something to be said for all of it. But I'm the kinda guy that enjoys Michael McDonald as much as he enjoys the Flying Luttenbachers.

There are also bands, like Melt-Banana, that can take a non-musical sound (i.e. "noise') and integrate it into a very musical context. We try to do a bit of that, but we're nowhere near as skilled. Then again, we're really just a punk band that likes feedback and enjoys Motown.

I've only lived in Milwaukee for three and a half years, so I couldn't really tell you what the scene was like then. I can tell you that we usually have to leave town to get any appreciation, but I can't say that's true of every band that's here.

hm, i think the term "dating" or "seeing someone" depends on the individuals level of commitment or something. like it could be after (not two) three or more outtings that involve heavy petting and dinner, but then... i also say i'm dating the person i'm with even though we've been living together for like 4 years. basically, if yr not married, yr dating.
