A couple new recommendations from the last year that I don't see listed anywhere in this thread (yet):MusicThe Trap Set with Joe Wong - Conversations with Drummers, featuring a bunch of folks that don't do a ton of interviews like this (Amy Farina, Mac McNeily, Todd Trainer, Sebastian Thomson, Sara Lund, Bob Bert, etc....)Nerds on Tour - Guy from Chicago that interviews different folks from the music world and concentrates on the business side (ie - how much it costs to tour, to press a 7 inch, to run a club, to run an indie record label, to recoup against a major label advance, etc...) Super interesting guests that are very forthcoming about the financial realities of being a working musician (Kelly Hogan, Bettina Richards, Will Oldham, Bruce Finkelman, Jason Narducy, John Doe). Turned out a Punk - Damian from Fucked Up interview folks in great detail about their introductions to music and the scenes they came up in... Some of the episodes I immediately skip, but there are some GREAT ones that get WAY deep into music nerd-dom (Gerard Cosloy, Fred Armisen, Jon Spencer, Anthony Bourdain, Craig Kilbourn, Protomartyr, Lou Barlow, Neko Case, etc...)PoliticsAxe Files with David Axelrod - Hour conversations with tons of folks that are prominent (Senators, Governors, etc.) and behind the scenes (Pollsters, Strategists, etc..) Interviews folks across the political spectrum... Couple recent ones with older gentlemen (Newton Minow & Abner Mikva) were mind-blowing as to the history those folks had been close to over the decades....FiveThirtyEight Elections - Nate Silver & Crew kvetching each week about polls, and comparing current election to prior ones... Way more interesting and entertaining that I thought it was going to be...
