That would be a riot. Have Alaska and Willam make an appearance. Or Bob and Monet. I'd be down with a queens version of MST3K

Just watched Midsommer and Heretic.

Midsommer was great, but Heretic… meh. I think it probably played better in the US where people take Christianity a bit more seriously.

Sean Baker shot it on 35mm film, and the Music Box has both film and digital projections. We went to a film projection and are glad we did.
Cannot wait to see this. Red Rocket and Tangerine are a couple of the best films I've seen in the last decade. Hope is shows up out in the hinterlands where we live.
FINALLY fucking saw this film.

Total head-scratcher for me on a few levels, yet ultimately I really liked it a lot. The very ending scene fucked me up in a wild way. Tender, but jesus. Immediately wanted to watch it again, which is a good sign.

I really dug Heretic but it didn't stick the landing. Nice ride tho.

Rewatched Hellraiser 2022. Liked it better the second time, but still kinda lukewarm on it. Cool-looking cenobites doing cenobite things. Could've been more pervy.

Also rewatched The Substance. Good flick! Enjoyed it more the second time around.

Sing Sing was really great. Coleman Domingo is a great actor. Devilishly handsome.

Finally saw Eggers' Nosferatu. It was everything people had said about it: exquisite cinematography, excellent acting, great attention to detail. If there's anything I can add, it's that it becomes an A minus purely on the grounds of being a remake.

All of his films center on dread. Not a ton of plot (except maybe Northman) just a sense that things are going wrong and will continue to fall. The fact that this is a well known story takes away some of the wonder of just how wrong it will go. The Witch and The Lighthouse had a certain bang at the end. Still there was a grotesque carnality to the ending sequence even if it felt inevitable.
