"you're wrong about" - if you're not familiar it's a podcast that tackles a variety of subjects and sheds light on them that was often overlooked - had a piece on Sinead O'Connor in the last year or two, maybe longer. It was obviously sympathetic to her, but going back and looking at all of the events that surrounded just the SNL protest and subsequent aftermath is fucking heartbreaking through todays lens. I mean crushing. Half the world basically wanted her killed because she asked people to stop raping people, and for the people covering up the raping to stop the covering up.
Just astonishing how awful it was.
It's worth a listen IMO. I learned a lot, she survived shit that would've broken most.
RIP.
*eta - this was at the top of the page, so I added that my reply was about O'Connor.

I will definitely seek this out.
I was a teenager living in a republican, catholic household at the time she did this. My parents were LIVID, and at the time I was mostly parroting them, which I'm completely ashamed of now.
Sinéad, I'm truly, truly sorry. You were right to do what you did.

That podcast is great, and I would strongly recommend everyone here to listen to the one about Courtney Love too. Definitely set my shit straight.
Sinead...just, fuck. Crushing. She endured so much trauma and pain.

I gave up Catholicism for lent once, and decided it was a sacrifice I was willing to maintain.

Beatle Bob. If you knew him or knew of him, you certainly had an opinion about the fella.

I deeply regret not responding when Sinead O’Connor was looking for a boyfriend. It probably wouldn’t have worked out, but I’ll never have the chance again.

First became aware of him in
Nice Dreams and he's been a hilarious staple ever since. Requiescat.
