No, it's officially recognised under the 'Civil Partnerships Act"

Hosted a little seafood party last night with friends. I cured and cold-smoked a piece of salmon, and served it on crackers with cream cheese, chives, and topped with a dollop of caviar. It was the tits.

yup, i live in warsaw, poland. it does't look any good now though, the temperature went from -1 C to +1 C and snow is melting. to think that exactly one week ago it was warm enough to wear shorts.

i'm hangovered, but not the adam's level. biggest hangover of my life needed 48hrs to go away. oh boy, even thinking about that hangover makes my current one seem like a sweet and harmless baby-hangover.

hangovers suck.

Thanks for letting me know; you have officially and without realising increased my regard for Poland as a romantic country. I know I am misplaced; I still do want to visit there. My friend did, and drunkenly split her head open: the Polish doctors stiched the bandage to her head.

And I'm still not put off. What puts me off more is that there is a band in Leeds called 'I heart Poland', and they are clearly apeing iForward Russia!, who didn't wear golfing gear or call themselves such prior to Franz Ferdinand. It makes it difficult for those of us who have had an interest in Communist and Eastern European art and culture to retain the might to continue the fight.

Today, I found a wig in a skip. It's like my own hair but straighter and redder (mine own is brown but displays it's red tinges in certain lights).

I also gave my friend a lift to an address on York Road in Leeds. This is a flyover which is difficult to navigate, and misreading the signs off of a junction (and being fairly tired), I took us the wrong way onto a roundabout, directly into oncoming traffic. Fortunately there was only one other car and all parties were travelling slowly, but I still felt like a fool and it was a reminder that one is fragile in a motor vehicle.

I went to a "couples baby shower" today... which turned out to be quite fun. Great food/drink, great company, Rams/Chiefs (US 'Football') game dialed in for the other poor males who were mostly dragged there against their will...

...so (there's no stylish way to segue here, I'm just going to have to blurt it out): How do you react when someone tells you what they plan on naming their baby, and you flinch inside and want to tell them "No, no, no!"?

I mean it's none of YOUR fucking business, right? But when is it time for you, as a good friend, to say discreetly "Well, but are you sure that you have totally thought this through?"

The delightfully kooky and flamboyant mother-to-be is of a multiracial persuasion, and the quiet, more introspective proud papa is 100% German. They intend to name their daughter "Aryanna".

I almost choked on a croissan-wich when she told me that, and I immediately thought "Dude - that's fucking HILARIOUS!", until I realized she was dead serious. (and it almost goes without saying on this forum, that in my mind was Tom Araya repeating the lyric-fragment "...to benefit the Aryan race!")

What would you all think? Am I just having a case of intense ignorance here, and that's a fine name for a baby presumably going to live part-time in the USA and part-time in Frankfort? Or is this sort of a bad idea?
